Why LDS love movies
Why we watch ‘the hunger games’.
Hunger games: why?

We’re all on the edge of our seats, hoping that Katniss makes it to Snow’s Mansion. We’re all rooting for Tris, as she struggles to reach the Erudite headquarters. If you’ve seen these, or even
We’ve all love to see the little ‘guy’ win, especially if he’s a she, and a strong attractive woman. (and believe me I feel exactly the same way you do about that).

Many have theorized that the popularity of such Hollywood blockbusters such as “the hunger games” trilogy, Divergent and the host…. are successful products of the ever dividing gap between the ‘rich and poor’, the general feelings toward exposed corruption, corporate greed and the secret combinations of the tax evading super-rich.

I agree. I absolutely do. That’s motivation enough to buy a cinema ticket.
And let’s not get confused. We love Starwars, Harry Potter and LOTR’s for a whole different reason. They are classic ‘Good vs Bad’. We’re all programmed to react well to that. Books and Hollywood have made trillions from our inert desire for ‘good’ to triumph.
But maybe there’s something more to our love for the Hunger games genre than we’ve realized. Maybe what resonates, originates in spiritual truth.
For those not of our faith you’re gonna have to bear with me. Mormon’s believe that before we came to earth we existed already. The mainstream-biblical doctrinal proof of that is as flakey as the Jesus quote “I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it”. Which makes sense, but isn’t to be found anywhere in the bible.
However if you believe that precious simple truths were lost to time, and that a prophet of God has restored them in the last 160 years… then this is the article for you. (Am I allowed to do an LOL after that??? …probably not).
So this theory all spins around this scripture:
Rev 12:7-9

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Which sounds like a bit of a stretch take story until you read this one.
 D&C 37 And they were thrust down, and thus came the devil and his angels;
 the twilight, certainly Harry Potter: And I’d even say, ‘The host’ and LOTR’s
